The following questions can be used to initiate discussion after viewing movies or television programs.
1. Who is the director of the project? What are his/her other projects?
2. What company produced it? What other films has it produced?
3. Is it based on a true story or historic event? If so, how closely does it follow the actual facts?
4. Are the actors well known? What other roles are the actors known for?
5. What is the script writer's overall objective or intended theme? What sub-themes are present? Would they be categorized as positive or negative?
6. What sensitive subjects are approached? How are they handled in light of Scripture?
7. Is there violence? If so, is it excessive or inappropriate?
8. Is profanity used? If so, is it excessive?
9. Is there any form of nudity? Why was it included?
10. Is there any inappropriate dialogue or suggestive behavior? Why was it included?
11. Which elements might have been added or omitted from the project without losing its overall objective or theme?
12. Are authority figures treated with respect or are they ridiculed?
13. Are there portrayals of Christians? If so, are they portrayed in a favorable light? Are there any incidences where God or the Bible are ridiculed, directly or indirectly?
14. Do the heroes obey the law?
15. Are the people who do wrong portrayed as heroes?
16. Am I tempted to do wrong or to act inappropriately because of what I've seen and heard?
